Child Rating Schedule scale

CategoryDetails
DescriptionThe Child Rating Schedule (Becker, 1960) is a measure used to assess child behavior and personality, consisting of 72 bipolar rating scales with antonym pairs that define the extremes. The scales were selected to cover the personality domains outlined by Cattell (1957) and the preliminary factors identified by Osgood and Becker through the semantic differential method. It also includes variables relevant to the behavior of five-year-olds, such as “ease of discipline.” Factor analyses were conducted based on ratings from mothers, fathers, and teachers, revealing five common factors: Hostile-Withdrawal, Relaxed Disposition, Lack of Aggression, Submission, and Conduct Problems. Additionally, a factor specific to teacher ratings was identified: Schoolroom Intelligence.
