| Description | The Buzz Test (Schucman, 1960) was designed as part of a study to develop an objective, quantified measure of educability for children with severe intellectual disabilities. It assesses size discrimination ability using round, black discs of various sizes attached to a gray board. In pretest demonstrations, participants learned that placing a disc over its corresponding sample on the board would produce a buzzing sound. During the test, participants matched discs to the correct spots on the board. Six items, increasing in difficulty, were included. A transfer form utilized white discs to be matched with black samples on the board. The test demonstrated high stability and consistency, along with predictive and construct validity. |
