Parent-Child Closeness Scale – Chinese Version

Description

A large body of empirical research indicates that the parent-child relationship significantly predicts adolescent problem behaviors. Children with a higher quality of parent-child relationship tend to exhibit better social skills and fewer problem behaviors. The Parent-Child Closeness Scale (PCCS), developed by Buchnan, Maccoby, and Dornbush (1991), assesses the relationships between fathers and sons as well as mothers and daughters through a total of nine items, using a 5-point scale ranging from 1 for “completely disagree” to 5 for “strongly agree.” Higher scores indicate a closer relationship between adolescents and their fathers (or mothers).
