| Description | The Philosophies of Human Nature Scale (Wrightsman, 1964) measures personality traits related to trust. It assesses six components: Trustworthiness, Altruism, Independence, Strength of Will and Rationality, Complexity, and Variability. Initially, 20 Likert-type items were written to measure each component, but after two item analyses, a final form with 14 items per subscale was developed. The scale shows adequate internal consistency and strong consistency over time. The first four components (Trustworthiness, Altruism, Independence, Strength of Will and Rationality) were intercorrelated, while the last two (Complexity, Variability) were independent of them. |
