TECTOSPINAL TRACT

a tract of nerve fibers which starts at the superior colliculus, crosses the midline at the midbrain, and descends through the midbrain, pons, and medulla oblongata to end within the cervical area of the spinal cord. It operates the turning of the head in reaction to auditory, visual, and somatosensory stimulants.
