PERIPHERAL ANTICHOLINERGIC SYNDROME

a syndrome seen in clients receiving mixes of agents with psychopharmacological impacts and because of the additive anticholinergic impacts upon the peripheral nervous system of, among others, tricyclic antidepressants, the anti-Parkinsonian drugs, and weaker phenothiazines. The indicators are inclusive of dry mucous membranes, warm flushed face and skin, and dry mouth.
