RECIPROCAL ALTRUISM

A type of helping behavior that is perpetuated when one individual helps another at some future time the second individual returns to kindness either to their first benefactor or his or her progeny.

RECIPROCAL ALTRUISM: “When Eric gave Paula’s children a check, it was an example of reciprocal altruism because Paula had given Eric rent money when he was out of a job.”
