PRISON PSYCHOSIS

A psychosis brought upon by actual or anticipated incarceration in prison. If the subject is vulnerable to schizophrenic tendencies, prison will magnify and enhance them. Symptoms include delusions of innocence, an unfounded belief in an impending pardon, belief that they are being persecuted for no apparent reason, rage and destructiveness.
