PARAHIPPOCAMPAL GYRUS

a ridge upon the medial exterior of the cerebral cortex’s temporal lobe, lying overtop the hippocampus. It is an element of the limbic system considered to be implicated in spatial or topographic memory. Commonly referred to as parahippocampal cortex.
