ONEIROPHRENIA

initially explained by American psychiatrist Ladislas von Meduna, a dream-like, hallucinatory condition appearing like to schizophrenia in specific symptoms, like distruptions of feelings and correlations, but separated from schizophrenia by disruptions of the senses and clouding of awareness. It is correlated with extended sleep deprivation, sensory deprivation, or drug use, but presently isn’t broadly thought to be a separate clinical entity.

ONEIROPHRENIA: “It is often difficult of psychiatrists to differentiate oneirophrenia from possible other disorders upon the initial examination of the patient.”
