LIPOSTATIC HYPOTHESIS

a hypothesis that implies long-term food intake is regulated by the concentration of fats (otherwise known as lipids) in the blood. During low concentrations food consumption is said to increase and vice versa for the converse condition.

LIPOSTATIC HYPOTHESIS: “One popular diet runs on the lipostatic hypothesis which implies that any long-term food intake is regulated by the intake of fats not other factors.”
