LEARNING DISORDER (LD)

a condition whereby the individuals learning, academic and scholastic abilities are severely below the average expected for the age range, these include basic skills such as reading, mathematics and verbal skills. Learning disorders can be diagnosed using a variety of different criteria, each with some varying components. See disorder of written expression, mathematics disorder or reading disorder.
