MOSAICISM

is the name for a condition where an individual is made up from two or more different cell lines which are still derived from the same zygote. The cell lines may differ within tissues and the organs of the same person and mosaicism has been linked to other conditions such as down syndrome and turner’s syndrome.

MOSAICISM: “Normally an individual will be made up of a single cell line, mosaicism is the term used to describe an individual who is formed of two or more cell lines.”
