Dementia Paralytica

Dementia paralytica is more commonly known as paresis; it is also termed as brain syphilis, syphilitic meningoencephalitis, or general paralysis of the insane. The symptoms include personality change, delusions, disorientation, convulsions, memory loss, aggressive behavior, and apathy. This is caused by brain tissue damage which is experienced by some patients with syphilis. Most of the patients are males who are aged 35 to 50.
