BULBAR RETRACTION REFLEX

n. a relflex reaction of the eye in which the eyball retracts in response to the threat of the cornea or the conjunctiva being touched. In lower form of animals, it is the nictitating membrane which closes.

BULBAR RETRACTION REFLEX: “The bulbar retraction reflex is a defense mechanism of the eye which enables the eyeball to retract from any contact.”
