BROWN, JOHN A.

(1925-1997) U.S. psychologist who earned his PhD at the University of Michigan. Going on to become a faculty member of Harvard University for most of his life, he focused on the fields of psycholinguistics and social psychology. Much of his studies emphasized on concepts about language development and the relationship between language and the mind, two of which are flashbulb memory and tip-of-the-tongue phenomenon.
