BOWLBY, EDWARD JOHN MOSTYN

(1907-1990) a British psychiatrist renowned for his contribution to child and developmental psychology. In his Attachment Theory, he describes the attachment human infants have for their caregivers and their distress at separation. Thus, it is in early childhood when patterns of secure and insecure attachment are established.
