BRAIN POTENTIAL

n. the electrical potential which occurs in brain cells, enabling them to transmit impulses to and from the central nervous system. More of an electrochemical phenomenon, it involves changes in the electrical field such that charges are produced. These are captured by an equipment called an oscilloscope and are recorded via EEG. See electroencephalography.

BRAIN POTENTIAL: “The brain potential is actually an action potential that is both electrical and chemical in nature.”
