BODY-SIZE OVERESTIMATION

n. a tendency to overestimate the bulk and size of one’s personal features. It reflects poor body esteem and leads to body distortion. As such, a person tends to hide flaws by wearing clothes a size too big and, as a result, drawing attention away from the body. See body-image distortion.

BODY-SIZE OVERESTIMATION: “Body-size overestimation leads people to unreasonably worry over hips, waists, and thighs which seem too large for them.”
