n. control of the body and its physical activities using the power and persuasion of the mind. Also refers to indoctrination into a set of attitudes and beliefs embodied by a group. As a social influence, the doctrine may be extreme in approach and it may lean towards that which is religious or political. See brainwashing- also coercive persuasion.
