CAMOUFLAGE

n. the act of concealing one’s presence or identity in natural surroundings. It is a form of defense achieved through cryptic coloration and vocalizations which are intentionally difficult for the enemy to localize. Observed in many species of animals (e.g. birds and reptiles), it enables avoidance and escape. See countershading.

CAMOUFLAGE: “Ultimately, the key to successful camouflage is to blend in with one’s surroundings.”
