BALANCED SCALE

refers to a scale whereby, for each alternative, there is another alternative that means the exact opposite. An example is a rating scale with the four alternatives very poor, poor, good, and very good.

BALANCED SCALE: “A person using a balanced scale must choose between pairs of opposites – like and hate, for example.”
