ANOETIC

1. A purely emotional reaction that is not moderated by emotional processes. 2. An unconscious place in memory where things are stored without consciousness or remembering. Essentially, this process is a case of unknowing-knowing, whereby the person knows something but did not know they knew it. [defined by Estonian-born Canadian psychologist Endel Tulving. 3. the lack of capacity for higher-level processing, thinking, or concentration. The latter originally referred to mental retardation, but has now declined in popularity.
