Met behulp van de NEADL kan de therapeut/arts meten in hoeverre een patiënt ADL-activiteiten zelfstandig kan uitvoeren. De NEADL is een vragenlijst bestaande uit 22 vragen. Deze 22 vragen zijn onderverdeeld in 4 subcategorieën, te weten: mobiliteit, zelfverzorging thuis, zelfverzorging en sociale activiteiten. De NEADL wordt ook wel afgekort als EADL of als NEAI.
