ATHLETIC MOTIVATION INVENTORY (AMI)

a self-report inventory commonly used to assess 11 personality traits that are statistically associated with successful athletic performance: aggressiveness, reachability, conscientiousness, determination, drive, emotional control, guilt proneness, leadership, mental toughness, self-confidence, and trust. Originally published in the 1960s, the AMI consists of 190 sports-specific statements, to which participants respond using a multiple-choice format.
