XERODERMA PIGMENTOSUM

a syndrome acquired as an autosomal recessive trait and characterized by severe photosensitivity. It is elicited by a flaw in the capacity of the body to heal injury to DNA stemming from exposure to UV light, that generates cancerous alterations in skin cells and escalated mortality. Dwarfism, microcephaly, and cognitive retardation might also exist.
