a system inside the body which is accountable for preserving posture, equilibrium, and the body’s position in space, and plays an imperative role in managing locomotion and other motions. It contains the vestibular apparatus which resides inside the inner ear, the vestibular nerve, and the many cortical areas involved in the processing of vestibular data.
