TRANSACTIONALISM

noun. 1. an approach to climate-related psychology which stresses the persisting procedure of interplay between an individual and their physical and social surroundings. This procedure is categorized as an ongoing series of “transactions” wherein the individual’s actions are modified by climate-related aspects and vice versa. 2. an approach to perception which stresses the interplay of people and their surroundings. Instead of being merely passive viewers, individuals draw on prior experiences in effort to form perceptions of current scenarios and even of novel stimulants.

TRANSACTIONALISM: “A lot of students wrote their thesis on transnationalism this semester.”
