TONOMETRY

noun. a way of gauging intraocular pressure for the diagnosis of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Tonometry is generally performed with a tool which blows a brief puff of air at the surface of the eyeball and automatically gauges the amount of indentation, thereby indicating the intraocular pressure.
