SUFFIX EFFECT

the effect where the memory of the last item is weakened if another item is add at the end of the list. It can be called dilution effect of that last added item.

SUFFIX EFFECT: “Example of the suffix effect: If you have to remember list of a numbers like: 1,5, 7, 9, 15, you will remember the best numbers 1 and 15. However, when you add number 20 at the end of the list, recollection of the number 15 will become much weaker.”
