Stephen Wiltshire

Stephen Wiltshire (born 1974) is a British artist who is known in psychological fields for his high levels of visual memory and photographic ability to draw a scene or image with amazingly detailed accuracy. Known as the “human camera” Wiltshire is on the Autism Spectrum Disorder and couldn’t communicate through language in a full capacity until the age of 9. His first word was ‘paper.’ He is known for his ability to recreate images perfectly even after only seeing the images briefly. The famous neuroscientist Oliver Sacks studied Wiltshire’s visual abilities. Wiltshire is not only considered an artistic savant but also has perfect auditory pitch.
