SECONDARY STUTTERING

Established stuttering behavior wherein the dysfluencies are accompanied by awareness, anticipation, and resultant anxiety. Tics in the face, hands, head, or body may appear, denoting stress resultant of the effort put forth to control the stutter. Compare with: primary stuttering.
