REMEMBER-KNOW PROCEDURE

Process for evaluating memory awareness, wherein the subject must ascertain the difference between remembering and knowing. Remembering allows the experience to be relived mentally and related details come to mind easily. Knowing does not allow the reliving of the experience, but subjects feel that there is familiarity in the experience. Subject to source monitoring errors and can be affected by some circumstances, such as in the DRM paradigm.
