PROGRESSIVE RELAXATION

A relaxation technique that trains an individual to identify tension in various muscle groups and then relaxing that tension one group at a time. One technique involves the subject tensing specific muscle groups and then allowing them to relax. It is also referred to as the Jacobson relaxation method.
