PRIMITIVIZATION

Austrian psychoanalyst Enst Kris was the first to theorize that, in traumatic neuroses, a subject’s higher ego functions like objective thinking are replaced with primitive developmental concepts like wish-fulfilling fantasy, hallucination and other magical thinking. Basically, it is the adoption by the subject of emergency coping using a narcissistic fantasy.
