PERSONALITY DISORDERS

a set of disorders involving pervasive trends of perceiving, corresponding to, and thinking about the surroundings and the self which interfere with long-word acting of the person and are not limited to isolated episodes. DSM-IV-TR acknowledges ten particular personality disorders. These are: histrionic, obsessive-compulsive, schizotypal, paranoid, borderline, avoidant, narcissistic, anticultural, dependent, and schizoid.
