NITROUS OXIDE

was first isolated in 1772 by British chemist Joseph Priestley (1733 – 1804) which is still used as an analgesic gas for patients normally in outpatient dental clients, because it is unlikely to cause any long term effects on patients which inhale nitrous oxide.

NITROUS OXIDE: “Patients who require sedation, specifically in a dental context are typically given nitrous oxide due to its quick recovery time but still effective analgesic gas effect.”
