Jensenism

Jensenism is a theory which proposes that IQ is generally determined by genetics. This term was named after Arthur Jensen, an educational psychologist who published an article regarding the failure of compensatory education as intelligence is highly influenced by heredity. The 1969 article was entitled “How Much Can We Boost IQ and Scholastic Achievement” and it was featured in the Harvard Educational Review. Jensen specified that the IQ of adopted children is closer to that of their biological parents. Also, he proposed that the average 15-point IQ difference between black and white Americans could never be removed by education. Jensenism was coined by Lee Edson, a New York Times writer.
