Diverticulitis

Diverticulitis is the inflammation or infection of the small and bulging pouches along the lining of the intestines specially in the colon. The symptoms include persistent pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, abdominal tenderness, and constipation (rarely diarrhea). The risk factors include obesity, aging, lack of exercise, smoking, low fiber diet, and certain medications such as opioids and steroids.
