CORTICAL LAYERS

the layers of neurons that make up the construction of the cerebral cerebellar cortex and cerebral cortex. Inside the cerebral cortex, the amount of layers ranges, with the neocortex having no more than six. Those layers are as follows: (I) the plexiform molecular layer, (II) the external granular layer, (III) the external pyramidal layer, (IV) the internal granular layer, (V) the ganglionic layer, and (VI) the polymorphic fusiform layer.

CORTICAL LAYERS: “The varying cortical layers all contain different amounts of cellular materials.”
