n. a metaphor conceptualized by U.S.cognitive scientist and philosopher Daniel Dennett (1942- ). It challenged the rationale behind Cartesian dualism, pointing out what would remain of Descartes’ original model were it to be removed – that is, all but a tiny theater tended to by a homunculus.
