BROMIDES

pl. n. a class of drugs found to cause toxic and adverse side-effects such as psychosis, coma, or death. They used to constitute a group of sedatives and anticonvulsants used for anxiety treatment. They have currently been replaced by phenobarbital as a safer drug.

BROMIDES: “The intake of bromides results in complications, the earliest of which could be cognitive impairment and emotional disturbance.”
