BRODMANN’S CYTOARCHITECTONIC AREA

n. the pattern used as a basis for mapping out the cerebral cortex as Brodmann’s area. It is architecturally based on cellular structure and organization. First designed and numbered by German anatomist and neurologist Korbinian Brodmann (1868-1918).
