BLINK RESPONSE

n. an abrupt and involuntary movement of the eyelids. Usually, the eyelids close in response to physical irritation, a foreign body, bright light, or any other peripheral stimuli. Also called the blink reflex. See corneal reflex.

BLINK RESPONSE: “Although blinking is a normal function which occurs every 4 seconds, the blinking response may be a defense against external stimuli.”
