n. a secular religion founded on evolutionary theory. It upholds the belief that evolution is the key to progress of humanity such that anything which advances it will be for the good. Thus, it should be allowed to operate so that some civilizations will survive and some would naturally die away. Proposed by U.S. psychologist Raymond Cattell (1905-1998).
