AROMATHERAPY

n. a type of therapy that aims to improve psychological and physical health by using aromatic oils extracted from herbs, flowers, fruits, and trees. The fragrances of these oils can be inhaled or the oils themselves can be massaged into the skin in an effort to induce relaxation, reduce stress, and comfort emotional distress – as well as to enhance well-being.
