ANTIANDROGEN

n. a substance that inhibits or blocks the effects of androgenic hormones on the tissues and areas that they were intended to affect. May function by way of pharmacology, by modifying the process of androgen metabolism, or by inhibiting the normal response to androgens. Examples include bicalutamide, flutamide, and nilutamide. Also known as androgen antagonist.
