ANALYSIS OF COVARIANCE (ANCOVA)

a continued branch of the analysis of variance wherein accommodations are made with regard to the dependent variable so that the impacts of a related variable might be taken into account. Such a process is recommended whenever: (i) trial and error groups are thought not to be the same after all as result a related variable in their backgrounds as well as the varying features of treatment, and (ii) a change in the covariate could escalate the trial and error procedure.
