ALARM CALL

an utterance engineered by an animal, usually in reaction to finding a prospective marauder, which advises others to seek safety or enlist in communal battle of the marauder. Alarm messages are known to be selfless functions, with the behavior usually revealed in the course of relative selection or complementary selflessness.
