AGNUS CASTUS

a naturally concocted by-product of chaste berry tree flowers which has been overseen and recommended by the Commission F. of the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices for use in the treatment of side effects felt in the end of the luteal phase with regard to the menstruation cycle (reference: PMDD-premenstrual dysphoric disorder) and in the relieving of menstruation cycle irregularity. Even though it contains active ingredients which are not fully known or understood, the remedy has displayed significant estrogen-related properties. It is assumed this remedy works by affecting the pituitary gland. It might also contain dopamine-related properties and should not be used in conjunction with any dopamine-receiving antagonists or agonizes due to the possible side effects that could take place with dual use. Side effects of the use of agnus castus alone are not common, but comprise itching, rashes, queasiness, vomiting, vertigo, headache, fatigue, and disorientation. Commonly referred to as vitex agnus castus

AGNUS CASTUS: “Agnus Castus has helped to alleviate the moods and physical symptoms associated with PMDD for many women.”
